Adam and Charlie, tour guides

Last night, after surviving our trip in the flying panga over the choppy, gray Pacific ( our guide said it was unusually rough) as we sat having our drinks, a bassett hound named Charlie adopted Adam.  Charlie is a famous beach dog who adopts various folks.  He escorted us across the estuary and up the mountain to our favorite eatery, La Galeria, and stayed with us as we ate dinner.  He escorted us back down the mountain, across the beach and through horse shit strew back lanes in the pitch black night. At one point I fell behind and Charlie came back and waited with me until he was sure I joined the group.  He came into our palapa and was there curled at the entrance in the middle of the night.  This morning he was gone, but we felt ever so lucky to have had the pleasure of his company for the short time we had it!
